Asad Ali is a seasoned criminal defense attorney with more than a decade of experience representing clients in both state and federal courts. Mr. Ali brings a deep understanding of criminal law to every stage of a case—trial, appeal, and post-conviction—and is committed to delivering vigorous, strategic advocacy on behalf of his clients. Over the course of his career, Mr. Ali has successfully litigated a wide range of criminal cases, including violent crimes, homicides, weapons offenses, sex crimes, federal offenses, drug trafficking, and DUIs.

Mr. Ali began his legal career at the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Tampa, Florida, where he developed a strong dedication to defending individuals from an often unfair criminal justice system. As an Assistant Public Defender, Mr. Ali represented both adults and juveniles facing charges from misdemeanors to life felonies at pretrial stages and trial. Following his work in public service, Mr. Ali entered private practice in Miami, Florida, where he continued to focus exclusively on criminal defense. 

Mr. Ali later served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Florida Office of the Attorney General. In that role, he represented the State of Florida in criminal appellate matters, gaining substantial experience in high-level appellate litigation. Over the course of his tenure with the Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Ali briefed and litigated more than 100 appeals, and presented several oral arguments before the Third District Court of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court.

Mr. Ali earned his B.S. in Political Science from Florida State University in 2010, and his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2014. During law school, Mr. Ali served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. He also investigated violations of the Fair Housing Act while externing at the Florida Commission on Human Relations, and represented clients in family law matters as a Certified Legal Intern with the FSU Law Public Interest Law Center.

Mr Ali is originally from Homestead, Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching Seminoles and Dolphins football, reading, and working out.
